We are now 10 days in 2017! Can you even believe it!
I have debated on whether it would be useful to share my favourites of 2016 considering I didn’t really wear that much makeup this year, mainly because makeup is not baby friendly! He he
However, after much contemplation, I thought this might be useful for those of you who you like to know more about products that are fool proof, easy to work with and are totally worth the hype around them.
Dermalogica Clear Start Breakout Clearing Overnight Treatment
This has been one of these products that have totally saved my skin. Instead of suffering with a pimple for days I usually put this on and it allows the pimple to come to the surface and dry up much much quicker. The active ingredient in this is 2% Salicylic Acid which my skin seems to love when I have breakouts.
This one was one of those purchases where I was so desperate for something to work so I paid at check out without looking at the total amount in my basket. Lol! Well I’m glad it’s worked. I don’t use it too often because I find that dries out my skin more than I would like but it has definitely helped clear out my skin providing me with smoother looking skin.
La Roche-Posay Hydraphase UV Intense Moisturiser
My skin has been extremely dry, and does not retain much moisture throughout the day so I needed something that isn’t too heavy on my skin yet provides that lasting hydrated feeling. Thankfully this has worked so beautifully. Paired with a corresponding serum it keeps my skin looking and feeling plump and fresh. It also has an SPF so its 2 products in 1.
Colourpop Cosmetics – Matte Lip Colour in Bumble
Hands down my go to colour of the year! I think I’ve almost finished a whole tube – considering I don’t wear makeup everyday that’s an achievement. I LOVE this colour, but not just on myself I’ve used it on photoshoots and it looks good on so many skin tones.
Maybelline Age Rewind Eye Concealer
Cult favourite. What else can I say that hasn’t already been said about this concealer. Its brilliant its easy to find, its inexpensive and its one of if not that best high street concealer there is. I wouldn’t recommend this for a makeup artist kit as the applicator isn’t easy to clean and cross contamination is inevitable.
Urban Decay – Naked Skin Concealer
This one has been my favourite higher end concealer. It’s so light weight yet provides amazing coverage (medium) and its completely buildable. The only downside is that the colour range is more towards Pink/Neutral end of things which makes it a little harder to match. None the less its so lush.
Clarisonic Mia 2
I bought my Mia 2 around 4 years ago, and I haven’t turned back. Its by far the best exfoliator for my skin. I’ve realised that if I don’t use it, my skin starts to look uneven and bumpy. I use it every other day with a gentle skin cleanser if I have no make-up on and as part of my second cleanse when I have makeup one.
Korean Sheet Masks
WARNING: This can turn into an addiction. These come in such a HUGE variety. Almost every Korean beauty brand makes their own and they provide your skin with a boost of whatever serum you want to treat yourself with (brightening, hydrating, tightening, nourishing etc). For those of you who haven’t tried any I highly recommend them however, I also recommend that you do your research on what you want out of the masks you buy.
Sunday Riley Good Genes
Ah yes the most expensive product on my list. I really wanted to find a dupe for this product but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find anything that gives the same effects are Good Genes. This elixir does everything it says on the bottle “smooths, refines, clarifies and brightens, whilst improving your skin’s thickness and elasticity. Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and combats uneven skin tone” this is amazing under makeup.
Anastasia Beverly Hills – Dip Brow pomade
Brow Game changer! The only downside to this is that it has to be used with a brush. Apart from that this product is great! Check out my ride or die video for why I love it!
Just a disclaimer, after looking through the list you will realise that there is a lot more skincare compared to makeup and that is because my skin has been going a little crazy since I’ve had my little one and truthfully, I am still working on getting to a point where I am happy with it.
I’ll do an update skincare post once I have nailed a good routine down.
I hope you all have an amazing 2017 full of everything you have ever dreamt of!
Until Next time,
